Workshop Modules

Module 1: Character Design and Visual Research (24th Feb 2024)

• We are going to learn to make credible characters, with designs that

contribute to the narration of the story.

• The first thing students will do is sketch the characters that will be in

their illustrations.

• Examples + live demo

• Students must prepare a board with character design quests for the next

class.

Module 2: Props and Composition (2nd March 2024)

• Feedback from the last class: from the board with characters, we will choose the

character that best suits each student's story.

• In this class students will learn to compose an image, respecting composition rules.

• We will also see how to design objects to fill our scene, which can contribute to the

story.

• For the next class, students must bring a rough drawing of their illustration, with the

characters (line only)

Module 3: colour and light (9th March 2024)

• Feedback from the last class: corrections from the previous week's work

• In this class students will learn to use colors and light in their illustrations.

We will see how to use saturation and colour temperature to attract the

viewer's eye.

• Students must finish their illustration for the next class, or bring a rough version

of it.

Module 4: Review & Feedback (16th March 2024)

• Feedback on everyone's work

• Q&A 

• Tips on making a portfolio 

• Recordings will be shared after every class via Gdrive

• Certificate on completion of the workshop 

• Dedicated WhatsApp group to interact with the mentor & your peers
